I chose furniture for my living room in such a way that it looks brighter and also warmer

Am going to write about my living room furniture. My living room is of good size in length and width.

I don’t know the exact dimensions. I chose furniture for my living room in such a way that it looks brighter and also warmer.

My living room is tiled with grey marble and the sofa set which are of 8 seats, i.e: 2 single seatс, 1 double seat and 1 triple seat.

A small table is kept in the middle of the sofa sets. The sofa set wood is of teak and the cushion is of sponge of good quality.

The color of the sofa set is brown in color which suits to the tiling. I chose the furniture by price and looking at the quality of wood and sponge used for making sofa set.

The wood used for living room furniture is used for almost all the other room furnitures. In the living room, there is a big TV stand also made of teak. In it is kept the TV, DVD players, satellite receiver, CD’s, small decorations etc. Read more »

My living room is in a Victorian Tenement flat typical of where I live in Scotland

My living room is in a Victorian Tenement flat typical of where I live in Scotland. These buildings were designed to house the workforce of the newly industrialized city and have a typical look to them featuring red sandstone, high ceilings, bay windows and good proportions.

Traditionally each room would have housed a whole family, including a fireplace where all the cooking would have been done and a bed recess where they would sleep.

My living room still features the bed recess, which I have used to build my kitchen, although the fireplace has been blocked up.

Essentially the room is square with a large window letting in lots of light, and the recess that has a fitted kitchen.

I didn’t want a typical kitchen and so it is very modern with sleek grey units, and a bright red Perspex splash back.

The living area needed to match that, and has a perfect shade of purple-grey on the walls which complements the red and grey of the kitchen but is a soft warm color. This color flows through and ties into the palette in the rest of the house, cappuccino and heather colored. Read more »

My living room is large with hardwood floors

My living room is about 20×15. It is a large, open room with hardwood floors. In the middle is a white Oriental rug with a floral design in pastels.

The walls are white, and there is not much furniture. There is a large mural on one wall, but the others are bare.

There are three couches, that are all white. The main theme of my living room, I suppose, is white and wood. There are several large wooden sculptures, some of which are from Africa, and some African instruments near the fireplace.

The fireplace is my favorite part of the room. It has painted white molding and a green marble base. In front of the fireplace is my favorite place to curl up in the winter and read a good book. Read more »

I have two living rooms – one public, one private

I have two living rooms – one “public”, one “private”. Our front living room is our kids’ room and family friendly living room.

This is where the entertainment center with kid stuff is located. It has the couch with a cover, lots of chairs, including child size chairs.

There are two toy boxes and a kid play table. It is ideal for everyone, since it is right next to our front door. Playmates who come to visit thus don’t have to run through the house to go play.

The carpet is brown and the rest of the room is tile, minimizing clean up for the inevitable messes. This is kid play room crossed with a living room, and it is a room that is very lived in.

We don’t worry about appearance accept to minimize the “hurricane that ripped through” look. The bigger priority is preventing trip hazards.

If buying furniture for this kind of “lived in” room, choose durable, expendable, and easily cleanable. Neutral colors that don’t show stains are a must. Read more »

Mostly we look for price and style in our living room

My living room is about 10ft by 8ft so it’s a fairly large room. It also has a work station since I work from home with a computer and extra phone.

The computer desk is a large desk with a hutch with a glass door and 3 shelves along the side and top.

The whole piece is about 4ft by 3ft. The other furniture in the room is two tan colored chair and a half’s and a love seat also in tan color.

We also have a dark brown wood with iron coffee table that has 3 baskets under it and two light colored end tables.

We also have a console TV, a stereo system, a large and small book shelf, and a shoe rack. Read more »

My living room is yellow and I chose navy cloth furniture to give it a French feel

My living room is yellow and I chose navy, cloth furniture to give it a French feel.

I have two intersecting sofas. Both are large enough for an adult to sleep comfortably on.

I chose them from a local furniture store that I get most of my things from.

Everyone who visits love what I’ve done with my living room.

My mother went with me to pick things out. Whenever my best friend comes over to watch TV and hang out he always falls asleep on it. Read more »

We match the spectrum not the exact colors in our living room furniture

My living room is huge. My house was built in the sixties, so everything is out dated, except my living room. I have a gas fire place, a flat screen plasma, the works.

I have two nice leather chairs, a tan sofa, and a huge coffee table. My mom arranged it, and she does not believe that furniture should ever be lined against a wall, so we have it all diagonal facing the TV.

My mother and I live with my grandmother who LOVES her stuff. So we could not buy anything new. We had to use her old, nasty stuff to decorate. Just like everything in our house, it is old.

I am amazed everyday how good my mom makes it look. If you can stay with a neutral color and match it with other pieces of furniture it looks great. Read more »

Decorating living room 12ft by 12ft

My living room is about 12ft by 12ft. The furniture that is in it has either been given to me or I have purchased it. I am not picky about my furniture because it is one of my first apartments and I don’t see the point in spending a lot of money on furniture unless it is for comfort.

There is one off white couch that can seat about three people comfortable. I purchased it in a used furniture store, where in its previously life, it was rented. I am unaware of the brand, but I chose it because it was comfortable, wasn’t ugly (it was plain), and was a good price (about $199).

The color does get dirty easily, but the off white can match just about anything and you can add all sorts of throw pillows to jazz it up. There is also a brown coffee table that was given to me by my sister. It is fake wood, but it gets the job done.

I use it to put my feet up on when I’m sitting on the couch, or to put my lab top on it. I plan to pant it black one day to match the other things in the living room. The TV stand, fish tank stand and book case are all black. Read more »
