I have a huge living room. Its is about 200-300 sq feet. I have a striped couch that is about 3-4 meters long. Next to it, there is a chair. Under it is a rug that is beautiful with these lines that make you want to get down on it and roll on it.
We have a 60″ TV on one wall and next to it about 6 feet or 7 feet, there is a fire place that is about 3 feet high.
Then there are some snow men that sing a song that goes like Should auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot and days of Auld Lang Syne. For Auld Lang Syne, my dear, for Auld Lang Syne, we’ll take a cup of kindness yet for Auld Lang Syne.
And its so funny because when they do so they do this funny dance and it makes you wanna run away. Above that there is a picture about flowers and a rainbow flying over it. Read more »
My living room, as well as my entire one-bedroom apartment, is furnished around the fact that I have two little pug dogs that shed their beige hair a lot!
In order to camophlage this, I have furnished my entire living room in the color beige! Color can be found in the pillows and the wall hangings. In order to read my morning newspaper in comfort, with one pug dog on either side of me, I purchased a large Bergere chair, with a matching ottoman, in beige leather which I found advertised in a newspaper by the well-known department store, Bloomingdale’s.
I had it shipped about 1500 miles. Alongside it there is a metal floor lamp and a small chest made of rattan that I use as a place to put a phone and the coffee cup.
My living room has two sections, each about ten feet long and ten feet wide. One section has the Bergere chair, lamp and chest, along with two beige “easy” chairs. Although the dogs are not allowed on either of these, they are upholstered in a beige cotton material. Read more »
We are a young family. We live in an area that although the cost of living may be considered low compared to the rest of the country, that cost of living is higher than many of the areas of this state.
As a result, we have a small house. Two adults and two kids need to be able to function together peacefully in this space. We have a long living, narrow living room. This is the only space for entertainment, home office, and playroom in the house.
We have a mix of old and new in this space. We have an old pull-out couch. This piece comes in handy when we have guests. It is brown with different tones of brown stripes in a cable pattern.
To prevent too much attention drawn to the cable couch, we’ve covered it with a neutral beige cover. When we don’t have guests, this has become a place for me to do laundry. Read more »
I live in a trailer home so my living room is more long than wide, so when I had to put furniture in it, I had to come up with some creative ideas since I didn’t want to lose my stuff to another room.
My birthday is in October so I have tons of Halloween stuff, and my furniture matches.
Both my couch and my big easy chair are black. All my bookcases are black, of course, and so is my TV stand. The bookcases and stand are the simple do it yourself ones right from Wal-Mart for under 100.00.
I couldn’t tell you where I got my couch and chair from as they were a gift from my mother for my birthday three years back. Read more »
My living room isn’t very large, and over the summer it was originally being used to store other people’s furniture when they were off campus. When they came back, we had no furniture in our room, so we needed to find more furniture cheaply.
The first piece of furniture we received was from a friend of ours, who had made a table for an art class. My boss’s mother-in-law had an old broken couch with a flower pattern, so I took that too, since she didn’t want it in her garage.
At the beginning of the summer there was a sale, and I was able to find two chairs there as well. The first was a leather armchair, in an ugly orange-brown color. Read more »
I live in an apartment with a modest sized living room. Most of the furniture in the living room is second hand. I have a sofa that the cats have shredded so I cover it.
The computer is there with a desk. There is a small TV and a stereo that sits on a coffee table. I have a baker’s rack that I put together myself.
I use it to display knick knacks and as display area for holiday decorations. I have a metal shelf for books and lots of books. I also have two side tables for the phone and a lamp.
The living room does not have an over head light so I need two lamps for lighting. I also store other things in the living room like CDs, DVDs and video games. Read more »
Unfortunately the furniture in my living room was purchased for my basement movie room in my last house.
Our new house is much larger and we needed to use this furniture in the family room.
We have an overstuffed love seat and Couch with recliners on both ends. They are a creme color.
In addition I have a tile top coffee table, brown and yellow tones.
I have two end tables that are a dark brown color and an occasional table with mirror hanging above it. Read more »
Our living room is on the small size for a living room but about average for the duplex style on our block. It has a strange layout that limits how you place the furniture.
One wall has sliding glass doors. Another is long enough to put almost anything against it. The third wall is fairly short due to the doorway leading into the hall to the bedrooms. And the forth “wall” won’t even fit a loveseat.
What I would suggest to anyone with these issues is to find a way to maximize the space you have in the room by using the furniture to define where the room starts and ends. We only rent and brought our furniture in with us, which consists of a love seat and a chair with an ottoman. Read more »
