In my house, I have an atrium and a sunroom. I like to have a small patio set in the atrium, and a larger table and chair set in the sunroom.
The patio set consists of a small round table (approximately 4′ in diameter) made of a dark walnut wood, as well as two matching chairs.
The set in the sunroom consists of a teak rectangular table (approximately 6′x8′) surrounded by six matching chairs. Both sets are similar to what can be found at IKEA, but higher quality.
These have been durable throughout years and years of abuse from rain, sun, and children. These sets are constantly getting compliments, as they are fitting for the Californian coastal living vibe that is emulated from my interior decorations.
To make my decorations seasonal, I tend to choose colors that agree with the seasons.
For example, in the springtime, I put out flowers that are bright and colorful. During the summer, I put out bright whites to bring a relaxed, summer feel. For autumn, I accent with natural golds, reds, and oranges. Read more »
I have a picnic table on the ground and on the deck I have a glass top table with 4 chairs.
I built the picnic table myself out of pine and stained it green.
It seats about 6 comfortably. The set on the deck was given to me by a friend and I never saw any brand name on it.
These were the most I could afford for outside furniture.
If I furnish again I will choose different colors and not have a picnic table. Read more »
We have several pieces of outdoor furniture. We had most of it made custom out of wood.
Our nice picnic table is ten feet long and four and half feet wide. Needless to say, it has plenty of room.
We have seated up to twelve people at it at one time. When we had it customed made, we went ahead and had it stained also.
The table is heavy and works out good do to the location of our home on the ocean (we have a many of windy days).
The primary reason we chose a heavy picnic table is do to the wind, not having to do deal with every time the wind is blowing hard we would have to put a light weight table away in a safe place.
We also have four chairs and a small outdoor coffee table all made by the same person stained and made out of wood.
Again we chose this heavy wood furniture do to the high winds. The chairs are your normal wooden chair except for they have an option to adjust the back. If you want to sit straight up or lean back, you can adjust it with no problem. Read more »
Our outdoor furniture is simple yet appropriate for our sedentary life style.
We have a pine table that seats six on our real stone patio. It is a bit wobbly, which leads to many hilarious moments, including the spilling of tea, coffee and even lemonade.
There are two matching pine benches upon which people can sit. Again, this can lead to hilarity if people are overweight!
We also have a very nice wooden seat, which can fit three people of normal size at the end of the garden under a tree.
The only problem with this is that pigeons roost in the branches above the seat, which can lead to problems.
I typically use an umbrella for protection. We also have a barbeque set. This is useful for dining al fresco, but is useless for indoor use. Read more »
I have a glass table with a big umbrella for shade.
There are 4 large chairs at it that go with it.
The seats are padded, and they are a material that is waterproof.
I really like it. It is a great table for us, we like to play cards at it when it is nice outside.
I would recommend this table to others, or buy the same type in the future.
Outside on our deck we have a long wooden table that we bought from Ikea a few years ago.
When you pull out the extensions it can seat 10 people comfortably. Unfortunately we only have four matching chairs with thin blue cushions so we are always scrambling to get extra chairs around the table when we have people over in the summer.
We were told to “oil” the table the first year to keep it in shape but we never did. Consequently, it’s started to warp and crack.
The biggest problem is the table has a hole in the center to put the umbrella through but sometimes you don’t want the umbrella and if you put a table cloth over the table and forget about the hole in the middle, stuff usually falls through. Read more »
I have a black metal “mesh” round table on my back porch.
It’s rather light and can be moved or stored easily, as it can be folded. I don’t recall the brand name, but I do remember I bought the table at Target about 9 years ago.
I also have two beige plastic chairs that I use with the table.
I used to have cushions on them, but the dogs chewed them up! My black lab has jumped on the mesh table before… Read more »
At the moment our only outdoor furniture is a bistro set. It is a wrought iron and wood set, just a small table and two small chairs.
When we purchased this set, we only had a small patio to our second story apartment. Now that we have a house and a nice yard we will need to purchase a larger set, though I would still like to keep this one as I do like the way it looks.
Even though it is an outdoor set, the wood did not take very well to being outside and needs maintenance.
The sun took the color out of it and dried it out. One day when I was I believe eight months pregnant, it was bothering me so I spent hours (into the night, even) sanding it and restraining it. Read more »
My outdoor furniture is a Hodge podge of whatever I have scrounged up at flea markets or garage sales or year end sales at home stores.
I like the mismatched look an it’s a bargain.
I look for durable pieces like wrought iron and natural wood for benches, tables and chairs.
I don’t like anything fussy like wicker or fabric cushions because I live in the Deep South where things mildew easily
For my back closed in deck I have four wicker chairs two ottomans and two tables, I purchased them from Target.
We were looking for something that would not break the bank and yet be comfortable at the same time.
On the back porch we have a table that sits 6, glass top, white base.
For our front porch we have two wicker rocking chairs, upstairs front porch two wooden rocker chairs and a table.
