I purchased a computer desk from Dollar General about six months ago. I chose this piece because I am in college and needed something cheap and something to do homework on with my laptop.
I also have limited space in my sunroom, so it needed to be slim. I don’t believe I would choose the same thing again. Even though it was only twenty dollars, I would rather have something with more space.
I put it together myself and it was a hassle! I did feel a sense of accomplishment having done it myself without screaming for my boyfriends help.
The desk has a little drawer and 2 little shelves underneath the drawer. I don’t have a chair since they were too expensive, so I just use my dining room chair when I’m sitting at it.
The drawer doesn’t slide out very easily either. I would say it is almost a temporary piece since I am dying to get something sturdier.
I also don’t really like the color. It is a faux pine look and I would rather have an oak or mahogany colored desk.
Something royal looking with a large workable surface. I can barely fit my laptop on there if I have a book or writing pad for notes.
It isn’t very practical, but when you are a college student living on your own, you have to make sacrifices.
