I have oak wood water bed base with regular mattress in it

I have oak wood water bed base with regular mattress in it.

It’s so old now I don’t remember the brand.

I liked the light color of the oak finish.

We were thinking about having water bed, but chose not to, so we put in regular mattress.

I would prefer same oak finish, but regular bed with separate pieces of end table, dresser and the whole set.

My bedroom is furnished in Wiener Werkstatte style

My bedroom is furnished with a kind size bed made by BDDW from solid walnut.

The mattress (which I love) is by Duxiana. The headboard is custom upholstered with an antique afghan prayer rug with a brown and auburn geometric pattern.

I have two antique side tables in the Wiener Werkstatte style. They are mahogany with a high polish.

I have two Jielde French industrial lamps, one on each table. I have a large mirror with a solid walnut frame made by Hudson Furniture.

There is an antique two-tier barrister bookcase to which I have added cabinet lights and filled with antique books and a collection of Swedish pottery and an African headrest.

There is a lounge chair by Christian Liagre for Holly Hunt in a curry colored leather in the corner with a bronze floor lamp for reading next to it.

At the foot of the bed there is a bench called the “Freud Bench” also by Christian Liagre for Holly Hunt. The carpet is a wool Tibetan in strutted chocolate brown. Opposite the bed is a 50in plasma TV and below that a rosewood cabinet of my own design which contains DVD players and cable box. Read more »

I love the mattress in my bedroom which is Sealy Posturepedic

In my bedroom I have a full-sized bed, two bedside tables, a desk, and a large dresser.

There’s no special brand to any of these items except for the mattress, which is Sealy Posturepedic.

I chose these items mostly for value, and what my relatives were giving away when I furnished my apartment.

If I could furnish again the bedroom, I would choose mostly the same kind of furniture, though I would definitely buy a better dresser (the drawers squeak).

I did have a funny story about outdoor furniture – I decided to take some stains off my patio chairs, which are white plastic.

I used a “magic eraser” foam sponge to do this, but it quickly scrubbed all of the shiny finish off of the chair! Read more »

My bedroom is a lovely mix of furniture styles

My bedroom is a lovely mix of styles I like to call “rural poor”. It isn’t so much one set style as it is trying to make the best of the hand me downs that have been given to us or that we’ve found.

Our bed does not have a frame, rather it is a full sized box spring and mattress on the floor. These were gotten from an overflow that the local Habitat For Humanity group had. They’d received them from a local hotel and sanitized them.

They couldn’t use them, but were giving them away. We took one. We’ve got a very tiny, beat up, wooden dresser from my mother in law. The dark stain on it is flaking and rubbing away, and although it isn’t pretty, it serves it’s purpose, and one day I will re-finish it or paint it.

I’m very much a do-it-yourself kind of person, and I’d love the challenge. I just don’t want to paint or re-finish it in winter! Next on the list of items is a large steamer trunk. This is a relic from my short lived attempt at living in the dormitories at a local college.

It’s black with brass findings, and looks very much like a throw-back to the Victorian era. I believe it’s the only piece of furniture in the bedroom that was bought new. Read more »

Most of my bedroom furniture is from Ikea

Well most of my bedroom furniture is from Ikea. I have a queen size bed with a memory foam mattress, then there is an Ikea shelf, dresser and lamp.

My father built some drawers into the closet. I’d definitely change my furniture if I could.

One time my lamp fell onto my mattress (lamp was on) and it burnt a big whole out of my mattress and started a fire but my dog smelt the fire so it was easy to put out. Read more »

Furniture Outlet in Indianapolis

I went to a furniture outlet to by a mattress.

I was on a budget. I had very little money.

The name of the outlet was Furniture Outlet in Indianapolis, IN USA.

I bought a queen size mattress for $300. In other stores, it cost more than $600.

No, I wasn’t look for a special brand. It was dirty and a little shady feeling, but at least I have a mattress to sleep on now.
